We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic!
Following Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order and instructions from the NWMLS (see below), we have closed down our office, but the RJRE Team is still hard at work from our homes. Also, while we are working from home, buyers and sellers with transactions in the works need not worry as mortgage lenders, escrow companies and title insurance agents are all deemed essential services.
If you are not currently in a transaction, this housebound period might be a good time to think about real estate. From paint touch-ups and maintenance inside to gardening and landscaping on the exterior, there are a lot of things homeowners can do to spruce up the home that cost nothing or very little. Also check out some of our guides for sellers.
If you are thinking of buying a house, this is also a good time to start thinking about your options. A pre-approval letter from a lender is key for making an offer, and now might be the time to fill out that paperwork (give us a call if you need a referral to a great mortgage broker!) Note that refinancing to lower rates has brought in so much work that mortgage brokers are overwhelmed to the point of raising rates, so waiting a bit might be wise. Regardless, if you are thinking of entering the market to buy, give us a call or send an email to discuss what kind of home you are looking for. We can send current listings and narrow down the search. We have guides for buyers, too!
We look forward to getting through this shutdown safely. In the meantime, please stay healthy.
