1021 Red Valley Ln, Maple Falls 98266
Maple Falls is located about midway between Bellingham and the Mount Baker ski area. It is a quiet community in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. While only 15 minutes from the Canadian border at Sumas, Maple Falls has a mild marine climate.
This 1991 rambler features three bedrooms, a soaring ceiling and large living room windows. The sellers just remodeled the home, repainting throughout and providing stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. In particular, the primary bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a nice soaking tub and separate shower.
A snow event at Mount Baker to watch for is the Legendary Banked Slalom, an annual snowboarding contest. The LBS has run since 1985. Starting with only 14 riders, the event hosted more than 230 snowboarders last year. In 2024, the 36th LBS will run from February 9 to 11.
Also make sure to check out Silver Lake Park and Maple Creek Park (check for trail repair status) when in the area. Silver Lake is in the Stephen Mather Wilderness. The area is filled with opportunities to enjoy nature and wildlife. Not to be missed, Maple Creek Park is the trailhead to the Bay to Baker Trail (also check for trail repair status). The Bay to Baker Trail is part of a proposed 74-mile system of trails in Whatcom County.
