One-Euro Homebuyers Still Loving Italy

You may have seen the news articles about homes for sale in rural Italy for just a euro. The migration of young people to the cities over the decades has left rural villages with faltering populations. To keep the villages alive, some have offered homes for sale for a euro (about a US dollar), typically with the requirement that the home be fixed up as many of the homes in those villages are in disrepair.

CNN today is running an article on two people who purchased one-euro homes in Italy and, despite isolation and difficulties during the COVID-19 lockdown, continue to be cheerful about their purchases and optimistic about the future.
