The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) has documented a 34% jump in anti-Semitic incidents from 2020 to 2021.
While anti-Semitism has never disappeared, its ugly head has risen more and more frequently particularly in the public sphere. At RJRE, we are dismayed by the growing tolerance for hatred in our country and the world at large.
However, we cannot let the voices of chaos and prejudice prevail. We must—each one of us—be tools of justice and peace, speaking with compassion and reason to overwhelm the vile sounds of hate wherever they rise.
The battle for peace begins with knowledge on how to respond. We recommend downloading the ADL toolkit titled “Antisemitism Uncovered.” It has strategies for standing up against hate speech and guidelines for what to do when a hate incident occurs.
The way ahead will not be smooth. We must all be vigilant against hate while standing up as visible agents of peace to fight for a better world.
